The title is a nod to the drop again in weight (more on that below)...

Well, I forgot to take a picture today - but, surely you can do without yet another goofy picture of my beaming in a robe, right?  Still, I always think blog posts are better with picture - so...my bad.  I'll do better.  I promise.

Today, there was a small group of us and I got distracted chatting with everyone and laughing and having a great time in general.  I met Sara (Oh, I hope I remembered her name right, I am notoriously awful at names the first time I meet people) who has visited this blog (yay!) and was sharing my love of cryotherapy.  There's something about standing around stark naked under robes and jumping in and out of a freezing chamber that lends to laughs and bonding.  I tend to be a pretty independent, solitary girl more often than not, but this is definitely the kind of thing you could grab a girlfriend and do.  It's fast, it's fun and it's "cool" in more ways than one (pun intended).

In talking with Sara, she mentioned someone doing cryotherapy at a hotel in Paris.  I found that amazing.  I've often remarked to my husband that I think five-star hotels should have a cryotherapy chamber available for guests to purchase a session.  There is strong evidence that cryotherapy relieves jet lag and with the energy boost, it would be a no-brainer for weary travelers.  Any hotel that offers a spa, should offer a cryotherapy chamber.  They are relatively small, not terribly expensive pieces of equipment in relation to their income potential and they would really increase a hotel's profile, in my opinion.  It did remind me that cryotherapy is pretty widely available.  You can find almost always find it available near you.  When you search, you want to be sure you find the right cryotherapy.  Nearly every chiropractor advertises cryotherapy, but it's not really the same thing.

You see, the term "cryotherapy" can be used to describe any type of cold therapy.  If you put ice on a bruise, for example, technically that is a form of cryotherapy.  When your chiropractor applies an icepack to your sore back, that is also technically "cryotherapy".  What we are talking about here, in this blog, is "whole body cryotherapy" which is done in a "cryotherapy chamber".

It's here that I have to give a real shout-out to the staff at Cryo954 in Weston, FL.  You will more than likely easily find a whole body cryotherapy option near you, wherever you are.  If you are very, very lucky, you might find one with a staff almost as wonderful as the one at Cryo954.  They're at least half the reason I go back again and again (and again and again...).  Friendly, personable, reliable - these are genuinely awesome people.  I recommend cryotherapy to anyone, but if you happen to be within a short drive of Weston, FL - I really recommend Cryo954.  I get no kickbacks for referrals (honest!) - nor would I want any - this is purely in the spirit of my genuine devotion to a great staff.  So, let 'em know I sent you.  I like the team here enough to want all good things for them because they're those types who deserve the good things in life.  I like them to know I look out for them.  There are days when they put up with a lot from me...

So - onto a few updates!

Pre-Cryo:
Woke up on this Saturday morning early enough to shower off a yucky night.

A night out to dinner with my family went south.  My delicious looking prime rib apparently was some evil Trojan horse and staged a bizarre rebellion about an hour after we came home - and, while I will spare you the gory details (which at one point involved a "help me" text to my husband and an ice pack), I will just say that this adventure is a factor in the additional drop in my daily weigh-in.  Otherwise, honestly, the weight loss is genuinely on the "too good to be true" level.  No, you will not miraculously shed the same 7-8 lbs in 6 days as I did in the first week - unless you'd like to add the premium package, which includes a small viral cold and a brief case of suspected food poisoning.

It wasn't fun, and the "help me" text was genuine (even for a Drama Queen, like me) - but, silver lining - (beyond the pounds lost) - for a week that included that much of a physical beatdown on my body, I felt pretty damned great!  I am not the "tough it out" chick.  Seriously.  I am the "everything hurts and I am dying, please love me" type.  So, for me to have gone all week thinking I felt "great" through these little turmoils speaks volumes.

Interesting side note - I do feel great.  Vibrant, full of energy, upbeat, happy, strong, positive, calm...but I am also aware that I have plans late tonight (Rocky Horror Picture Show!) where a nap would really be in my best interests.  I'm genuinely not sure I can get myself to take one.  Going to be tough to Time Warp with the other Transylvanians without a good nap...

Post-Cryo:
Is it any surprise I feel wonderful?

I do notice that my time in the cryotherapy chamber passes almost unnoticed to me now.  I genuinely do not feel the cold like I used to.  I'm accustomed to it.

I made myself eat lunch today, despite not actually being hungry - because, really, enough is enough with the lack of an appetite.  There's eat when you're hungry and there's "be responsible".  Eating today was about being responsible.  I kept it light and healthy and lower in calories, but I ate.

There is no cryotherapy tomorrow with the closed office and I am wondering if I will actually have withdrawals.  Maybe I'll drop a note about it (translation:  whine)

Well - Rocky Horror Picture show is hours away.  I need to somehow force a nap that I don't feel like I need, consider going to purchase a new feather boa and try on my pink wig.

It's October.
It's Saturday night.
It's time to get weird.
Go on.
Get your own inner freak on and have a great weekend!
